What you’re about to read, nobody is talking about.

Yet, it’s at the core of creating long-term sustainable high performance and creating a titanium immune system.

What if I told you that sugar can skyrocket your performance?  I know what you may be thinking, but if you care even an ounce about disease prevention and maximizing energy and brain function, read on.

If you have been following Superhuman Entrepreneur for any amount of time you’ve heard me talk about reducing sugars as ways to boost energy, performance and health, or how sugar may be the thing limiting your productivity and weight loss efforts.

For more on sugars you should be avoiding, check out my article on why Sugar May be Limiting your High Performance HERE.

In this article I talk about the type of sugar that you should avoid or reduce in your diet like the sugar in donuts, cakes and candy. Nothing surprising there. Everyone knows that too much “sugar”, or what most people think of as “glucose”, causes energy depletion and hormone dysregulation within the body.

What they don’t know is that there are eight essential sugars. Many of which, we are extremely deficient in. And including them can be one of the best ways to boost energy!

8 Essential Sugars Entrepreneurs Can Use To Transform Immune Function & Skyrocket Energy Levels

These other unique essential sugars are good sugars and have massive immune and brain boosting capabilities. Research into glycobiology, which is the science of how these good sugars impact our body, is showing some amazing results of adding these good sugars to your diet!

Clinically I’ve seen people use these sugars to help themselves overcome:

  • Cancer
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Chronic Pain
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Brain Fog
  • Heart Disease
  • Inflammatory Conditions

You see all the cells in your body require vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids and essential sugars for cell communication. Essential sugars combine with proteins and form glycoproteins that help your cells communicate with each other. Poor communication between cells can allow viruses and bacteria to take over and cause disease, however healthy cells “work together” to prevent the spread of these throughout your body and keep you functioning at an optimal level!

As busy entrepreneurs you need high energy levels and a strong immune system to be able to achieve the most out of your day and reduce any downtime!

So what good do these essential sugars do?

ways to boost energy

And what are some steps that you can take today to get these into your diet to help boost your immune system and your energy levels?

Well there are 8 essential sugars (your liver makes even more essential sugars from these 8) and so below I am going to go through what they are and how to use them to help skyrocket energy and performance!

1. Glucose

Now glucose is the one we have all heard of and although it’s an essential sugar, it’s very easy overdone. You can definitely consume too much glucose, especially if you getting it through any form of processed food. Healthy sources of glucose include almost all fruit and vegetables, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, aloe vera, licorice herb and cacao. You don’t need to go out of your way to get glucose. So I wouldn’t worry about this one because it’s so pervasive.

2. Galactose

Dairy is a great source of Galactose however you want to make sure you are consuming high quality organic or raw dairy products where possible. The best form of dairy is a “hypoallergenic” form from A2 Beta Casein cows. It’s more expensive, but if you can afford it, you can order it by clicking HERE. Beyond that, most fruit, vegetables and mushrooms also contain galactose, especially foods like plums, pineapples, prunes, raspberries, asparagus and avocado. Galactose improves the speed of healing of injuries and also improves memory. Galactose also improves your body’s ability to absorb calcium for those that are concerned about heart disease, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis and osteoporosis.

3. Mannose

Mannose is actually an integral part of your immune system. Being deficient in mannose can lead to inflammation and disease and so it’s a super important one to include in your diet. Eating aloe vera, sea kelp, green beans, capsicum (the hot stuff in cayenne or jalapeno peppers for example), cabbage, eggplant, tomatoes, currants, turnips, and Shittake mushrooms will all add mannatose to your diet.  Aloe Vera is awesome for you but difficult to eat without adding it a smoothie. So try blending it in your favourite smoothie and you will be super boosting your smoothie without altering the taste. ENRG is also an awesome supplement to boost your dose of Mannose. 4. Xylose

Xylose is super important for your digestive tract and research has actually shown that it can be effective in the prevention of cancer in the digestive tract. Xylose can be found in birch syrup as well as many fruits and vegetables such as broccoli, green beans, spinach, peas, eggplant, pears, raspberries, blackberries, guava, sea kelp and Aloe Vera.

5. Fuctose

Fuctose can be found in seaweeds such as kelp, medicinal mushrooms and some seeds as well as brewer’s yeast and is actually also found in human breast milk. This is not to be confused with fructose found in high quantities in fruits. Fuctose has loads of antiviral properties, supports long term memory, helps flight allergies and guards against lung diseases. It is known that the glycoproteins and glycolipids from Fuctose are essential to enhancing the immune system and controlling inflammation.

6. N-Acetyl Glucosamine

Glucosamine is really important to the health of your joints and can help prevent and improve symptoms of osteoarthritis. It can be found in shark cartilage, and the shells of crustations such as shrimp and crabs so can be difficult to get into your diet so a better source of glucosamine is a bone broth. Bone broth has a range of other health benefits as well and there are some super simple recipes online that can get you started!

7. N-Acetyl Galactosamine

Galactosamine like Glucosamine is an important essential sugar for joint health as well as for optimal immune system function. It too is found in shark cartilage and the shells of crustations, as well as red algae and bone broth.

8. N-Acetyl Neuraminic Acid

Marine phytoplankton has a ton of N-acetylneurominic acid, which is one of the essential sugars that is a little more rare and difficult to find. You can also get it from organic eggs and grass fed whey protein powders (such as this one). Neuraminic Acid is super important for optimizing brain function and particularly important for helping your brain with the ability to learn new things.

So because information is nothing without action, here are 3 steps you can start doing today to really skyrocket energy levels and boost your immune system with essential sugars.

  1. Add more vegetables to your diet especially raw organic vegetables and consume fruit in moderation. It’s ideal to consume berries to prevent from overconsuming fructose. These foods just have soooo many health benefits and are essential to good health!
  2. Try adding aloe vera to your next smoothie. It’s such a boost of many of the essential sugars we have gone through above
  3. Add some sea vegetables to your diet such as kelp (kelp noodles are great or add kelp to your salads) or add spiralina or chlorella to your smoothie!
